Congratulations to seventh-grader Katie Rotar, who won the 2024 school spelling bee Wednesday. Katie will represent Central Catholic in the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee on March 2, competing for a chance to advance to the national spelling bee in Washington, D.C.

Katie edged out fellow seventh-grader Jamison Dowden in the fifth round of the school bee. Cooper Wright, also a seventh-grader, finished third. All three will represent CC in the Christian Schools Spelling Bee on February 20.
