Prom is just around the corner…May 6! If you are shopping for dresses, be sure to take the guidelines with you.
According to the Knightline – Dress Code for Formal Jr./Sr. Prom – Women:
- Christian modesty
- Spaghetti straps and strapless dresses are allowed – as long as they provide modest coverage in both front and back (use 4” above the waist, basically just below the bra line, as a guide for the back of the dress).
- Dresses should not reveal cleavage – (use the width of the girl’s hand from the pit of the neck as a guideline).
- No bare midriff
- Slits for dresses must be no more than 3” above the knee
- Dress must be a modest fit, not tight fitting – dresses are too tight if they reveal the seams of undergarments or are riding up while walking or dancing.
This Dress Code must be followed. Girls (CC students and guests) arriving for prom in dresses that follow the rules stated above will be allowed to participate in the Grand March. Dresses that do not meet the Dress Code above will also result in the student being provided a sweater or other appropriate clothing to be worn at the dance.
