The junior high spelling team finished sixth in the annual Christian Schools Spelling Bee Tuesday night (February 22) at Faith Christian School.
The Knights were led by eighth-grader Colin Carpenter, who correctly spelled six words. Also competing were eighth-graders Connor Soon and Alex Schummer and seventh-grader Nicholas Props.
Alex Schummer will compete at least one more time this year. As the Central Catholic school spelling bee champion, Alex will compete in the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee on March 5 for a chance to advance to the national spelling bee.
