ISTEP+ 10 Part 2 dates are Tuesday, April 23rd (ELA) and Wednesday, April 24th (Math).  Both days, testing will begin immediately following prayer and announcements.  Please avoid scheduling appointments for your child on testing days.  Thank you!


KNIGHT College Admission Prep (KNIGHTCAP)

Want a better shot of making it into the college of your choice?  Let us help by giving you a “Jump Start” to the college application process.  Begin working on your college application months before your peers, research college programs that match your strengths and career interests, begin working on your resume and college application essay, develop a successful enrollment strategy and get ahead of the sea of applicants!

At the conclusion of the day, students will leave with:

  • Naviance assessment results to better define personal strengths and narrow career interests

  • A common application account with selected tabs completed

  • A college list with a master list of dates and deadlines

  • An updated resume

  • A framework for writing the college essay (and a rough draft to work on revisions over the summer)


In addition, students will receive:

  • Additional coaching on the essay

  • Assistance with recommendation letters

  • An overview of financial aid and scholarships

Are you considering becoming an officer in the Armed Forces? Check out Congressman Baird’s U.S. Service Academy Information Day on May 11. This event will provide information about the application process to the five Service Academies. Make sure to check out the attached flyer for more details and registration info!

Does your child need a jump start to school next year? Do you want to ensure your child remains engaged over the summer?  Do you want to ensure your child finishes the required summer reading?  If you responded yes to any of the above questions, you should consider the summer Literacy & Math Groups at Central Catholic.  Check out the attachment to read what the teachers are planning for the summer sessions!

All Summer School classes will run for four weeks, beginning on Monday, June 3rd and ending on Thursday, June 27th.  Classes will be held Monday-Thursday each week. No classes will be held on Fridays.

Summer School Offerings – Please select from the following:

Literacy Enrichment

Required summer readings will be completed for each grade level

Mathematics Enrichment

Current 8th Graders 8:00am-9:15am

Current 8th Graders 9:15am-10:30am

Current 7th Graders 9:30am-10:45am

Current 7th Graders 10:45am-12:00pm

Current 6th Graders 11:00am-12:15pm

Current 6th Graders 12:15pm-1:30pm

*Cost: $160 for one course, $300 for both Literacy and Mathematics Enrichment

*Scholarships are available for summer course offerings.  Please contact the Business Office for information.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 1st.  Class size is limited to 15 for each grade level – don’t wait to register!


Summer PSAT/SAT Practice Sessions

Did you know? 20 hours of practice is associated with an average 115-point score increase from the PSAT to the SAT? If you are interested in practicing over the summer to prepare for the October administration of the PSAT and upcoming SAT examinations, join me for the Summer Practice Workshops. Check out the difference summer practice made for those who attended last summer!

During the workshops, students will:

  • Link fall 2018 PSAT scores with Khan Academy
  • Learn about the types of questions and skill levels assessed on the examinations
  • Create a study plan to achieve 20+ hours of summer practice
  • Learn study strategies and test-taking tips
  • Take an initial practice test during Session 1 and again at the end of the summer in Session 2 to see the improvement in performance
