I am sure you are all eager to get started, so I am sending you instructions from the Common App website, along with CC-specific information you will need to complete your application.
Common Application Instructions
(From the Common Application Website)
Did you create a Common Application account prior to August 1, 2018?
*The instructions below apply to those of you who attended the KNIGHTCAP sessions in June. You will need to rollover your common app account.
How will Account Rollover work?
After the 2018-2019 Common App launches on August 1, you’ll be able to sign in using the same credentials as your 2017-2018 Common App. Upon that first sign in, we’ll ask if you would like to roll over your account from 2017-2018. If you answer yes, we’ll take you through a few quick steps to confirm the following:
* Your role (current applicant, parent, etc.)
* Your current high school
* Your communication opt-in selection
* Your previous My Colleges list
Once we have that information, we will migrate responses from your 2017-2018 account into your 2018-2019 Common App, and you’ll be ready to get started on your application.
What information will carry over from one year to the next?
We will preserve the answers you provided to any questions that appear in the six sections of the “Common App” tab: Profile, Family, Education, Testing, Activities, and Writing.
Did you wait until August 1, 2018 to set up a Common Application account?
There is no preparation required for this step (we promise), so you can create your account as early as you’d like. All you’ll need is some basic profile information – like your name, date of birth, address and phone number. And of course, you’ll need to provide a valid email address.
Note: Your email address will become your username and the Common App’s primary method of sending you updates and reminders, so make sure that you provide an email address that you check on a regular basis.
Go to www.commonapp.org to set up your account.
If you are asked to self-report grades, please contact Dr. Davis (A-K) or Mrs. Weise (L-Z) for a copy of your transcript. You are expected to report accurately and honestly.
