FAFSA & COLLEGE GOAL SUNDAY
The 2020-21 FAFSA https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa is open. Students should contact the college/school that they hope to attend, find out what that school’s priority FAFSA filing date is, then file the FAFSA prior to that date. It is best that both the student and one parent request a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/fsaid?_ga=2.151198206.69791068.1534171793-770185239.1532609084 prior to filing the FAFSA online.
Staff from Purdue’s Division of Financial Aid and Ivy-Tech Lafayette’s Financial Aid office will offer 2020-21 FAFSA information sessions in Ivy-Tech’s, Ivy Hall auditorium on Tuesday October 22, 2019 (and on Wednesday February 5, 2020) from 6:30-8pm. These are general information sessions only and we will not be filing the FAFSA on those evenings. Anyone can attend. Flyer attached.
There are a couple of flyers attached related to College Goal Sunday http://www.collegegoalsunday.org/, which is happening on November 3, 2019 (and February 23, 2020). One is a flyer for the event, and one is a checklist of what students/parents should bring along. CGS also will be held at Ivy-Tech Community College in Lafayette. Students/families will be able to file their FAFSA at the College Goal Sunday events. Staff from both Purdue and Ivy-Tech will be on hand to assist. Remember Daylight Savings time ends on November 3rd.
