All of the Junior High students should have their SOAR binder set up. Be sure to ask your child to see how they are using the binder to organize their work. At the end of the day (or end of the week), your child will clean out the SOAR binder into a designated Home Station. The Home Station can be whatever works best for your child to keep finished work organized at home. It can be the separate folders like she is using now in her binder or it can be a file system like the pictures below. The key is having a place to organize completed work at home so she is only carrying what she needs to school AND knows exactly where to look for prior assignments, tests/quizzes or study guides when it comes time to study for assessments or work on projects. A bonus for parents is if you have a question about an assignment, you can look in that specific folder for the answer!
We are having a Home Station contest and there will be a prize for the 10:10 class with the most students who create a Home Station (and they have to submit a picture of it). Students will have until Wednesday, August 31st to submit pictures of their Home Station to their 10:10 teacher or Dr. Davis.
