Our hearts and prayers are with Catholic schools and all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. In keeping with our mission to serve others, we have been in touch with diocesan leaders in the affected storm areas to determine their needs. In addition, students have asked to take action to help those in need.
The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) has launched a campaign asking every Catholic school family around the country to contribute at least $1 per family to help Catholic schools impacted by the storm to rebuild, reopen and re-enroll students. “Student to Student: A Catholic School Response to Hurricane Harvey” is a powerful opportunity to engage students in living the Gospel message of compassionate service and generosity to others.
So in addition to our prayers and other efforts made in coming months, this Thursday, September 7, Central Catholic will collect donations of $1 (or more) per student in exchange for a Spirit Day. Donations will be collected during 1st period. Please refer to the Knightline Student Handbook for appropriate attire for Spirit Days.
