I wanted to alert you to a fantastic opportunity for students (and parents!) to earn service hours over the next couple of weeks, while providing a much needed service for our local medical community during this pandemic. Purdue University’s EPICS (Engineering Programs in Community Service) program is leading an effort to make protective gear. They have opportunities for volunteers to cut out material from patterns and/or sew protective gear for our community medical staff. They are in urgent need of volunteers who are able to work a morning shift or afternoon shift at Purdue to cut out Tyvek material from patterns. Alternatively, anyone who would rather sew can arrange to drop by to pick up and take home a bundle of pre-cut material to sew together into the protective gowns.

Thanks to Lynn and Elie Bryan for sharing this information.
