The Lafayette Catholic School System announces the retirement of two of its most loved and respected servants of Christ, Central Catholic Principal, Neil Wagner and St. Boniface School Principal, Sr. Lenore Schwartz.
Mr. Wagner announced that he will retire from his duties at Central Catholic and continue his focus on his health and his family. Mrs. Melissa Robertson will continue to serve as the Interim Principal of Central Catholic through the remainder of this school year.
Mr. Wagner worked as Assistant Principal at Central Catholic from August 2009 until being named principal in 2014. He was dedicated to the students and families of Central Catholic, first as a teacher then as an administrator, for more than 15 years. His support of technology advancements, school safety and security, continuous improvement efforts, and facilities improvements will be felt for many years to come. His love for the students was evident in his every action. Mr. Wagner looks forward to spending more time with his wife, Tracie, and their two children, Tim and Bethany. He also looks forward to attending CC athletic events as a loyal Knight fan.
Sr. Lenore Schwartz announced this week, in a letter to friends (found here) that she will be retiring at the end of this school year. Sr. Lenore has served as the Principal at St. Boniface school for 21 years and as a Catholic educator for 53. Her tireless commitment to St. Boniface and the Lafayette Catholic School System have helped the spiritual and academic formation of countless children and families. Sr. Lenore looks forward to staying in the Lafayette community and continuing to support our schools and families.
Please join us in thanking Mr. Wagner and Sr. Lenore for their great work and dedication to our students and families. Please continue to keep them in your prayers as they move on to the next phase of their lives.
As we look forward, we plan to conduct a search and recruit for both positions. Thank you for your continued support and prayers as we look for strong faith-filled leaders for our schools.
