True or False?
To complete the Student Aid application, my 2015 taxes have to be finished first.
This is FALSE! In fact, the deadline for the Student Aid application is Sunday, March 13, and most people don’t have their 2015 taxes finished yet. Only one question on the application refers to information on your 2015 taxes. You can use your 2014 Adjusted Gross Income in place of the 2015 Adjusted Gross Income. FACTS will insert your 2015 Adjusted Gross Income after you have either uploaded or mailed a copy of your federal taxes to them later (which is due no later than April 20).
Avoid the $50 late fee. Start your application now!
STUDENT AID FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION #2
Do I list all of the children in my household even if they are attending another school?
The FACTS application asks you to list all of your PreK – grade 12 students, their school, and the 2016-17 tuition. There is a separate question under Annual Expenses, which asks how many people in the household will be in college and what your out-of-pocket college expenses are. This is different from last year where all children were listed in the same place on the application.
