This year, due to Covid-19 and safety concerns, we have been approaching service differently. We still do encourage our students to serve in the community in any way they can, whether that is helping the vulnerable with chores and shopping, volunteering at shelters and food kitchens, writing letters to the isolated, or anything else that they think of. We do encourage this, especially over Christmas Break when so many are in need, but we are not requiring service outside the home or school. Our students will engage in planned service activities at School through their theology classes and 10:10’s. This will meet their service requirement for the school year. For each activity, appropriate accommodations will be made for virtual students, and students can always submit 1.5 service hours to make up for any activity they do not to participate in (for instance, a student could write letters to the isolated for 1.5 hours if they are unable to participate in a service drive we hold at school). These hours can be submitted on a service hour submission form. Any activity completed at school will not require a service form submission. Any service related inquiries should be directed to Mr. Robert Storey, the Director of Campus Ministry (email@example.com).
