Last year a group of proactive parents approached me with this question: How can we best ensure our students are being responsible and safe online? After months of searching and piloting different software we selected Securly.
Securly is the accountability software and content filter protecting Central Catholic students while they are online away from school. We selected Securly because it gives you the ability to customize your home content filter and actively monitor what your son or daughter is doing online.
On September 29th, parents of students enrolled in grades 7-10 received an email that outlined the process for establishing a Securly account. If you would like assistance customizing your Securly content filter or would just like the opportunity to meet with other parents and discuss how to best approach Internet monitoring, please join us this Wednesday, October 12th, from 6:30-7:30 pm in the cafeteria.
If you are the parent of a student enrolled in grades 11 or 12 and you would like Securly installed on your son or daughter’s computer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you on Wednesday night.
