Senior High Religion: Sr. Mary John Pultorak
Sister Mary John is a Sister in temporary vows with the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration. Before entering the convent, she graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2013 with degrees in Theology, Catechetics, and French. She also studied abroad for a semester in Austria. Early in 2016, Sr. Mary John participated in a “mission experience” at St. Boniface Parish and Central Catholic during which she helped teach Religion classes.
Social Studies and Business: Mr. Matt Newkirk
Mr. Newkirk is a graduate from Purdue University in Social Studies Education. He has 8 years of classroom experience teaching social studies at North Montgomery High School. In addition to teaching, Mr. Newkirk was selected six times as a mentor teacher by graduating seniors and was the Fine Arts Academic Coach, Boys Golf Coach, and Assistant Boys Tennis Coach. Mr. Newkirk and his wife, Megan, have 2 children, both of whom are students at St. Lawrence School. The Newkirks are also members of St. Lawrence Parish.
Health and PE Teacher: Mrs. Kayla Fletcher
Mrs. Fletcher graduated from Purdue University in May with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Global Studies. She has experience teaching at Lafayette School Corporation and experience as the assistant basketball coach for the freshman boys team at West Lafayette High School. Mrs. Fletcher also studied abroad in Ireland and in Honduras, and she was recently married this summer to her husband, Trent Fletcher. She and her husband attend Clear River Church where she teaches Pre-K in Kid’s Church. Mrs. Fletcher also enjoys competing in triathlons.
Math Teacher: Mrs. Ashley St. Amour
Mrs. St. Amour earned her bachelor’s degree in 2014 from Anderson University with a degree in French and a minor in Christian Ministries. She then enrolled in a Change to Education Program in Secondary Mathematics at Indiana University Kokomo. Mrs. St. Amour has experience as an assistant teacher at Carroll Consolidated School Corporation, and she has tutored students who needed assistance with French and the Bible at Anderson University. Mrs. St. Amour also studied abroad at the University of Caen in France. She and her husband, Matt, are members of Crossroads Community Christian Church, and she volunteers with her church youth group. Mrs. St. Amour also enjoys reading, running, and scrapbooking.
Biology Teacher (Fall Semester Maternity Leave Coverage): Miss Margaret Lump
Miss Lump attended Purdue University where she earned her Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology in 2001 and her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science-Agribusiness Management in 2003. She also expects to receive her Master of Science in Equine Science from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in August 2017. Miss Lump has been an instructor of anatomy, both on-campus and online, within the Veterinary Technology Program at Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she taught undergraduate students. Miss Lump has several pets including a rat (named Ratticus Finch) as well as 2 dogs, a cat, 2 rabbits, and a corn snake. She is also a member of St. Thomas Aquinas, an avid kayaker, and an artist, and she has created a series of paintings titled “The Joy of Growth” that hangs in the west foyer of Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Guidance – Director of Student Services: Dr. Melanie Davis
Dr. Davis earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ohio University in 1990 before continuing her education and earning her Master of Science in Education from the University of Dayton in 1992 and her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Purdue in 1999. Dr. Davis has worked as a School Psychologist with Greater Lafayette Area Special Services (GLASS) from 2003 until 2016, and has served as the School Psychologist for Central Catholic since 2007. She has also been a Course Instructor at Purdue University for various Special Education classes from 2000-2013. Dr. Davis and her husband, Eric, have 2 daughters who have graduated from Central Catholic, and 2 more children who are attending CC. They are also members of St. Lawrence Parish where she serves as a Lector. Dr. Davis enjoys spending time with her family and teaching Body Pump and RPM classes at the YMCA and Parkwest Fitness.
