Meet Our New Faculty & Staff!

Sam Patacsil – Central Catholic Assistant Principal

My name is Sam Patacsil. I am the Assistant Principal at Central Catholic JR/SR High School. I am originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. My wife Holly and I just moved up to the Lafayette area. We have a 1 year old son Otto and a 9 year old Boston Terrier named Bond. I graduated from Purdue University with my bachelors degree in Psychology in 2010 and masters degree in Counselor Education in 2012. I finished my masters degree in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University in 2021. I have been in education for the last 9 years as both a teacher and a school counselor. Beyond my career in education, I have also coached wrestling for the last ten years both collegiately and at the high school level. I am excited about the upcoming school year and look forward to meeting and working with everyone in the CC community.

Rachel Tillman – Teacher: Biology, Environmental Science, Anatomy and Physiology

Rachel Tillman is teaching biology, environmental science, and anatomy and physiology. She grew up in south central Illinois near Effingham and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science from the University of Illinois. She was originally planning on attending veterinary school, but she wound up at Camp Tecumseh after undergrad and took a career change. She taught outdoor education and substitute taught for a few years before landing here at Central Catholic!

Rachel has one fur kid, a three year old orange tabby cat named Osage (yes, he is named after one of the cabins at Camp T–he was born there). She hopes to add a dog to her little family next summer. She spends her free time either outside riding horses (when she can borrow a ride) and hiking or doing crafts. She owns her own crocheting business, but also quilts, paints, does diamond art, and usually picks up another craft or two every winter. She is a member of Riverside Covenant Church in West Lafayette.

Amanda Lievense – Teacher: English

I received my bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and my Master’s from Walden University. This is my tenth year of teaching. I have taught English and history at a variety of grade levels.

I am married with two children. Both of my daughters attend our Catholic schools. Our family loves going to amusement parks and riding roller coasters. We also love Purdue sports and attending as many games as we can!
