2021 Spring Youth Writers Showcase Join us for this reading by youth writers from the Lafayette Writers’ Studio 3/28 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. EST. Hear story starts, novel beginnings, and poems from students from the Lafayette Writers’ Studio and the Astoria Middle School Writing Club. Interested in attending? sign up to receive the link!

The Rules & How to Break Them: Creative Writing for Grades 6-12 (online) for four weeks beginning 4/7 from 7-8:30 p.m. EST. Writers are people who read, write, and rewrite. In this online writing workshop, we’ll practice The Writing Life together and encourage each other’s writing dreams to take shape on the page.



 Adventures in Creative Writing (virtual and in-person)  meets the week of June 7 from 9 a.m. -12:30 p.m. EST. In this camp you’ll have the opportunity to use words to experiment, inspire, and unlock your creativity. We’ll learn terrific ideas for stories, poems, and memoirs, and use daily exercises to encourage us to create publishable final pieces by the end of camp. Writing is a lot of fun, and this camp will demonstrate just that.

Summer Youth Intensive Writing Workshop & Ask an Author (online) meets every other Tuesday beginning 6/1 from 7-9 p.m. EST. This workshop is for students who want to strengthen their creative works and experiment  with the craft of writing. We’ll discuss the techniques of good writing, share our fiction and nonfiction, and create a community of writers and readers committed to discovering what we need to say. We will also meet the novelist Daniel Aleman, author of Indivisible!
