The statewide Class 4 results are in, and the CC junior high Academic Super Bowl team is among the best in Indiana:
Congratulations to the junior high Academic Super Bowl team, which had four top-4
finishes statewide following its area competition on Monday, May 3.
The Knights were led by the Science team of Connor Soon, John Schweiss, and Noah
Weeks, which was the state runner-up in Class 4, with a score of 22/25. More than 40 teams
competed in Class 4 this year.
The Knights were also declared state runner-up in English. The English team of Bliss
Ulery, Jackie Hall, and Kaitlyn Kuckkan matched the state champion score of 23/25 but dropped
to fourth place on tie-breakers after three teams tied for state champion.
The CC Math team finished third statewide with a score of 15/25. The math team of
Dominic Schweiss, Will Fabian, Noah Weeks, and Vincent Telenko competed in what appeared
to be the most difficult category, based on overall scores, with the state champion scoring
The CC Interdisciplinary team of Vincent Telenko, Jacob Ramey, Ethan Stephens, Maggie
Schnerre, and Bliss Ulery rounded out top finishers with a fourth-place finish and a score of
Finally, the Social Studies team of Dominic Schweiss, Jackie Hall, Bridget O’Gara, and
Ethan Stephens took 11 th place statewide with a score of 13/25.
Also competing in the area competition were Sophia Adler, Craig Cahoon, Erin Cahoon,
and Ayana Haro.
The Knights are coached by Tricia VanSlyke (Science), Joe Gerrety (English), Laura Smith
(Math), and Macy Duncan (Social Studies).
