Congratulations to two Central Catholic Art students, Caybree Howat and Craig Cahoon, who received awards in the Scholastic Arts and Writing Competition.
Junior Caybree Howat earned a prestigious Silver Key with her Drawing titled Lemon Study. She earned an Honorable Mention with her drawing titled Bugs and Planets.
Eighth grader Craig Cahoon earned two Honorable Mentions with his Photographs. His first photo is titled Docked Speed, and his second photo is titled Stretched Light.
This is a remarkable achievement to have these works recognized by a panel of creative professionals as the most outstanding work submitted among their peers.
Since 1923, the Awards have recognized some of America’s most celebrated artists and writers while they were teenagers, including: Tschabalala Self, Stephen King, Kay WalkingStick, Charles White, Joyce Carol Oates, and Andy Warhol. Now our Central Catholic Artists are part of the esteemed Scholastic Awards alumni!
