Manufacturing Week 2017 is fast approaching and we are getting very excited for this year!  This year we are hosting events for Kindergarten – 12th grade.  Come join us the week of October 2-6, 2017

Manufacturing Tours – High School Students – Registration link will be available September 8, 2017

Interested in learning about career opportunities and technology used in manufacturing facilities today?  What do manufacturers require for employment at their facilities?  What education do I need to have a manufacturing career?  What are the opportunities for me?  Choose to visit manufacturers across the Greater Lafayette region to learn about manufacturing careers and what is built here in our backyard.  Teachers can select from the list of tour dates and times at numerous manufacturers.  Lunch will be provided.  Bus and substitute teacher fees are reimbursable with completed forms, forms will be sent to teachers to complete after the event.  There will be industry tours available Monday – Friday.  This year you will choose which tours your students will attend.

Manufacturing Expo – Middle School Students – Registration Link  Manufacturing Expo 2017

Students in 6-8th grade will attend the Manufacturing Expo at Ivy Tech Community College, Lafayette – Ivy Hall Grand Hallway and Lilly Rooms.  Students will be grouped with a chaperone to participate in station activities.  Station activities include these groups:  industry booths, tour of Ivy Tech School of Industrial Technology, LEAN activity, and Supply Chain Activity.  Lunch is included for all participants.Manufacturing Week 2017 schedule

Manufacturing Workshop – Elementary School Students – Registration Link  Manufacturing Workshop 2017

Students in K-5th grade will attend the Manufacturing Workshop at Ivy Tech Community College, Lafayette – Ivy Hall Grand Hallway and Lilly Rooms.  Students will be grouped with chaperones to participate in station activities.  Station activities include these groups:  Station 1 – LEAN activity, Station 2 – manufacturing activity, Station 3 – supply chain activity.  Activities may include Mouska Tool, Slime, Legos, Magnets & Other sticky stuff, create a simple machine, cheeseburger simulation, design a robot.   Actual agenda of activities will be sent out to registered teachers in mid-September.  Snack will be provided for all participants.
