JH Academic Super Bowl brings home ribbons

JH Academic Super Bowl team posts 3 top-10 performances

            Congratulations to the junior high Academic Super Bowl team, which had three statewide top 10 performances in Saturday’s (April 29) area competition at Lafayette Tecumseh.

            The Central Catholic Science team was state runner-up in Class 4, and the Social Studies and Interdisciplinary teams each finished sixth.

            The CC Math team finished 16th statewide in Class 4, and the English team finished 20th.

            More than 40 schools across the state competed in Class 4.

            The Math team consisted of Maggie Friel and Lillian Tanney.

            The Science team consisted of Sadie Prothero, Harrison Adler, Lillian Tanney, Katelyn Tanney, and Samantha Haro.

            The Social Studies team consisted of Sadie Prothero, Tulah Duttlinger, Richard DeCicca, Charlotte Watson, and Adison Hammel.

            The Interdisciplinary team consisted of Sadie Prothero, Nicholas Props, Tulah Duttlinger, and Charlotte Watson.

            The English team consisted of Nicholas Props, Adison Hammel, and Carson Gray.

            Central Catholic also fielded second teams in four disciplines. Competing on those teams were Max Roswarski and Nicole Martinez. Two other team members, Vincent Davit and Sam Payne, were unable to compete in the area competition.

            The team is coached by Tricia VanSlyke (Science), Veronica Endris (Math), Irene Scudder and Tess Szathmary (Social Studies), and Joe Gerrety (English).
