Junior High Academic Super Bowl Team places 3 in state’s top 10
The Central Catholic junior high Academic Super Bowl team finished in the top 10 statewide in three disciplines in the April 28 competition at Lafayette Tecumseh. CC’s teams finished no lower than 15th statewide among 60-plus teams in Class 4.
The CC Science team, which won its area competition, took second place among 60 teams in Class 4, earning a score of 23/25. The Science team was made up of Owen Adler, Carson Risch, Samuel Siemers, Josh Siemers, and Andrew Boggess.
The English team, which took second in the area competition, finished fourth statewide. The English team consisted of John Schnerre, Maria Vawter, Nathan Hall, and Liz Hutzel.
Math team, which took second in the area competition, finished sixth statewide. The Math team consisted of Carson Risch, Ryan Schummer, Joey Stair, Samuel Siemers, and Josh Siemers.
The Interdisciplinary team, which finished third in the area competition, took 14th statewide. The Interdisciplinary was made up of Samuel Siemers, Carson Risch, John Schnerre, Joey Stair, Maria Vawter, and Owen Adler.
The Social Studies team, which took second in that area competition, finished 15th statewide. The members of the Social Studies team were Owen Adler, Nathan Hardenburg, David Rebmann, Joey Stair, and Andrew Boggess.
Other members of the junior high Academic Super Bowl team are Amelia Angelone, Joseph Davis, Caitlin Dineen, Kate Hutzel, Lizzy McLaughlin, Zach Melville, Madyson Minnich, Ethan Mraz, Matt Ramey, and Megan Schmierer.
The team is coached by Ashley St. Amour, Tori Hart, Tricia VanSlyke, Michael Ringor, and Joe Gerrety.
