The Indiana Department of Education has released its list of Four Star Schools for the 2016-2017 academic year. The designation, which has been awarded for the past 30 years, recognizes high-performing schools throughout the state. Central Catholic Jr. – Sr. High School was once again one of several schools in the Diocese of Lafayette to receive this honor.
“Receiving designation as a Four Star School signifies a pursuit of academic excellence among students, educators, and the administration,” said State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jennifer McCormick. In order to be eligible for the designation, a school must receive an “A” on the state’s A-F accountability system, have excellent ISTEP pass rates, carry an overall high graduation rate, and show success in closing achievement gaps.
While we celebrate this great accomplishment, we simultaneously recognize Four Star School status only measures a couple components of what makes your child’s experience in the Lafayette Catholic School System so great! Through the tireless commitment of Central Catholic parents, faculty & staff, volunteers, and coaches we are able to welcome your child into a relationship with Christ, help him or her pursue academic excellence, and ensure the development of his or her spiritual, physical, emotional, and social skills.
Please join us in celebration of our school by thanking the teachers, staff members, coaches, parents, and hardworking students that make Central Catholic Jr. – Sr. High School a great place be!
