Over the course of the last semester, girls’ skorts have appeared to get shorter and shorter. Some girls are choosing to roll the waistband in order to shorten the skort length and some girls have simply outgrown their skorts as they are too short and/or too tight. The policy for skorts posted in the student handbook states:
Skort length must not exceed 3 inches from the top of the kneecap to
the bottom of the skort when standing. Skorts must be modest fit,
not tight fitting.
A uniform sale will be held at Central Catholic on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 3:00-6:00 PM. The Catholic School Garage Sale store located at 626 North Earl Avenue also can be a great source for used uniforms. Skorts can also be ordered online through Risse Brothers Uniform Company at: https://www.rissebrothers.com/index.cfm
Additionally, a “SKORT EXCHANGE” will be held in the library on January 11, from 3:00-6:00. Mrs. Justak and Mrs. Robertson will be on hand to accept skort donations and to allow any girl to take a gently used skort. It might be worth checking this out before heading down to the cafeteria to purchase a new, unused skort. Give any unwanted skorts to Mrs. Justak or Mrs. Robertson on or before Jan. 11. Remaining skorts will be donated to the Catholic School Garage Sale store.
Beginning the week of January 16, consequences will be assigned if skorts are too short or too tight. As stated in the student handbook, consequences may include but are not limited to: detention, loss of spirit day privileges, or the student’s parent or guardian may be called and required to bring in proper dress.
Please inspect your daughter’s school uniform articles of clothing and replace any items that do not meet the school policy. Contact us if you questions or special circumstances. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.
